Below is a collection of websites where you can practice your listening comprehension.  Choose the site most relevant to your interests.

 

 

 

Librivox

A collection of public domain books that are read in their entirety (you need to know what book you're looking for in advance).

 

TED Talks

A collection of video speeches with new and exciting ideas in topics ranging from politics, technology, education, and pop culture.

 

The Moth

A collection of true stories told by the people who lived them.  A variety of topics are covered.

 

NPR - This American Life

A collection of news reports and narratives told by a rotating cast of reporters.  Click on the Radio Archive to search by year.

 

American Rhetoric

A collection of speeches from history (and movies) with their original audio (where possible).  Great for primary documents for your history class.

 

RAZ Kids

A reading program with articles read aloud.  Your teacher must create a username for you and you must have your teachers permission to access.
